A perfect end to a great year

As the end of the school year draws near, our culinary students closed it out with a show-stopping dinner perfectly prepared and served to their families. This team of four students whipped up a meal that began with scallop and shrimp ceviche, followed by herb-roasted duck, accompanied by grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes, and finished with a lemon curd tartlet with toasted meringue.

The four students who created this gorgeous meal (Izel, Finn, Cynthia, and Diana) have each completed two years of Career Academy’s Culinary Arts & Hospitality class and took second place in last year’s ProStart state competition in Denver. They have all accomplished so much during their time at Youthentity, and we will miss them next year. Diana, Cynthia, and Finn will head off to culinary school (Johnston & Wales for Diana and Cynthia, and the Culinary Institute of America for Finn), taking the next step on the path to becoming professional chefs. Izel, a rising senior, is considering hospitality as a career.

Each year, Youthentity’s Career Academy helps students to find their futures. These students are heading into the next phase of their lives with a sense of confidence and curiosity that makes us proud to have been part of their journey.
