Youthentity Career Expo is a wrap!

Youthentity Career Expo 2023

Last week, the Youthentity Career Expo hosted almost 2,000 students at the Youthentity Career Expo held at Glenwood Springs High School on March 21st. The event, held each spring, aims to connect high school students with industries and employers that match their career interests. Over one hundred businesses participated in the event, talking to students about industry opportunities, education, and career paths.

This is the event's eighth year of hosting high school students from schools throughout the Roaring Fork School District. In addition to exposing students to a variety of broader career choices, was also a chance for valley businesses to share what they have to offer locally: over 75 businesses were in attendance, ready to speak with students about their individual industries and the jobs and careers offered in each. The event's keynote speaker, Kayleen McCabe, host and contractor with the DIY Network’s Rescue Renovation, spoke to students about her personal career journey, and the importance of discovering individual career passions and pursuing them.

The expos – formerly known as GlenX - began in the Roaring Fork Valley and expanded to include a career expo held in Rifle, eventually growing to reach more than 2,500 high school students annually. The Glenwood expo invites students from throughout the Roaring Fork Valley, while the Rifle event (typically held in the fall) caters to schools within Garfield Re-2 and District 16, including Liberty Classical Academy, as well as DeBeque and Meeker.
