Career Academy is an exciting opportunity for students to receive school credit while exploring potential career paths. A semester long or full year program, students choose between four tracks: Construction Technology, Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management, Animal Care and Health Occupations. All programs count toward graduation and are excellent for resumes and college applications.
Career Academy es una oportunidad emocionante para los estudiantes para recibir créditos. Un programa de un año entero, los estudiantes pueden escoger entre tres caminos: Estructura y diseño y la industria de la construcción, Artes culinarias y hostelería, y Servicios de Salud para animales y humanos. Career Academy students also learn the basics of workplace communication and behaviors introducing students to interviewing, how to write effective resumes and cover letters, and the “soft skills” which give students an edge upon entering the workforce.

Career Academy Classes
Architecture, structural/civil engineering, rough carpentry, roofing, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, concrete, masonry, landscape architecture. Build a tiny house! Earn certifications that give you a head start in the industry, including NCCER training and the Western Colorado Independent Electrical Contractor’s pre-apprenticeship program.

Culinary arts, baking & pastry arts, restaurant management & business, hotels & lodging. Earn industry certifications, college credits and the chance to win scholarship money through the ProStart culinary program. Over $920,000 in scholarships have been awarded to Culinary Arts & Hospitality students so far!

This program will provide connections with professionals and businesses within health care industry. Students will explore the many career paths in the Health Care field including nursing, dentistry, pharmacists, nutrition, physical therapy, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and others.

The Youthentity Animal Care Career Academy will provide students with an introduction to a variety of careers in the veterinary and animal care industry. The academy will help you decide if a career in this industry is something you’d like to pursue.
Elements of the Youthentity Animal Care Career Academy include: industry knowledge, veterinary medicine, animal control and training, anatomy and physiology, animal diseases, and veterinary business.

What to expect:
Students choose a track in either Construction; Culinary Arts & Hospitality; Animal Care; or Health Occupations.
Culinary Arts & Hospitality and Construction Technology classes meet periods 4 and 5 on the block schedule.
Culinary Arts & Hospitality and Construction classes will meet for the entire academic year.
Animal Care will be offered for the Fall 2024 semester and Health Occupations will begin in Spring 2025. Each class is one semester long and will meet on Wednesdays, 3-5:30pm.
Class locations: Culinary & Hospitality students will meet at Youthentity - 572 Highway 133, Carbondale. Construction classes will take place primarily at Bridges High School, but may also meet at other locations. Animal Care and Health Occupation class locations primarily meet at Youthentity in Carbondale, with occasional class visits to local professional offices.
Youthentity provides free bus passes to students if requested.
