The Investment Challenge isn’t about teaching children how to gamble; its about teaching young people how to assess risk.
— Peter Gilbert, former YE board member

YouthEntity's Investment Challenge program provides high school students with the opportunity to learn how to invest in the stock market. Small teams of students are given $100,000 in fake money and $1,000 in real money to invest in a friendly competition. Each member of the winning team in both the fake and real money portfolio competitions are given a $100 cash award from YouthEntity to jump start their investing. Students are coached by volunteers from the community. Above, volunteer John Eaton celebrates giving out cash to the winning investors.
