Restaurant Management & Culinary Arts
We offer two distinct programs for high schoolers who are interested in exploring a career in the Restaurant & Hospitality Industry:
ProStart at YouthEntity is a program primarily for juniors and seniors who want to learn about both the culinary and the management sides of the industry. Each year we compete in culinary arts and business management competitions regionally, statewide and even nationally for the experience and potential scholarship monies for students. In 2013 - 2015, our students have amassed over $450,000 in scholarship opportunities for post secondary education in this industry. We have placed 1st in both the business management and culinary arts competitions at the Colorado ProStart State Invitational and in 2015, we placed 1st overall bringing home the Sysco Cup. In 2015 we were selected by Sullivan University as one of the Top 50 hospitality programs for high school students in the country. YouthChefs baking & pastry arts is a program for freshman through seniors who have an interest in the world of a pasty chef or who want to grow their knowledge in this area. During this hands on program, students work with a master pastry chef to make French pastries with an American sensibility. Their final exam is to produce and cater a 1,000 piece pastry and chocolate buffet for their families, friends and YouthEntity donors.
Graduates from both of our programs have completed college and are working in industry or are currently enrolled in institutions such as the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, Mesa State University, Johnson & Wales University, Modul University Vienna and Colorado Mountain College.
